I have worked within the field of international education for more than a decade.

Over the years, what started as cross-cultural skits for the University of Washington’s international student orientation that featured bananas as props have evolved into professional trainings (full disclosure: props still sometimes make an appearance) that can be catered to the needs and context of each unique audience.

Recent clients include:

University Prep

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation

UW Department of Urban Planning and Landscape Architecture

In addition, I am part of a training team at the University of Washington that that works through partnerships with ministries of health, universities, and other stakeholders to strengthen health systems in Pakistan, India, Sudan, and Ethiopia by enhancing their leadership, management, and policy development capacity. My contributions to the team include modules on communication styles, storytelling as a leadership tool, and digital storytelling as a form of visual communication to promote education, policy, and management strategies.

"The student response to Anita's training was fantastic! She was able to take complex concepts and present them in such a way that 15-17 year olds not only understood the basics, but could also grasp why these topics were relevant to their upcoming cultural immersion experience.
Anita was able to draw a direct connection from her teachings to our students' reality. Overall they rated her training as the best of their pre-departure workshops.
